Safety

Meet, inspect, and trade carefully

Campus Marketplace helps students connect, but every exchange should still be handled with care.

Choose Public Campus Spaces

Meet in visible, public campus locations such as a student center, library lobby, residence hall front desk, bookstore area, or busy quad. Avoid isolated places, late-night meetups, and private rooms.

Bring Support When Useful

Bring a friend if possible, tell someone where you are going, and keep your phone charged. Trust your instincts and leave if something feels off.

Inspect Before Paying

  • Check the item in person before handing over money.
  • Test electronics, inspect textbooks, and confirm condition.
  • Avoid sending money before seeing the item.

Use In-App Chat

Keep early conversations in Campus Marketplace when possible. It keeps context available if you need to report suspicious behavior or review details later.

Protect Personal Information

Do not share passwords, verification codes, financial account details, home addresses, or unnecessary personal information. Use your preferred contact settings intentionally.

Report Problems

Report suspicious users, listings, or messages. Reports help admins review scams, harassment, unsafe items, and other conduct that does not belong here.
