Terms for student-to-student exchange
These terms describe the rules for using Campus Marketplace. They are written for a beta student marketplace and should be reviewed by counsel before broad public launch.
What Campus Marketplace Is
Campus Marketplace is a student-to-student marketplace for buying, selling, saving, and messaging about campus essentials. The app helps students discover listings and communicate, but students are responsible for their own listings, messages, meetups, payments, and transactions.
User Responsibilities
- Use accurate listing titles, descriptions, prices, and photos.
- Message respectfully and only about legitimate marketplace activity.
- Inspect items before paying and meet in safe public campus spaces.
- Follow school rules, local laws, and platform safety policies.
Prohibited Items and Activity
- No illegal, stolen, dangerous, counterfeit, recalled, or restricted items.
- No weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, fake IDs, or regulated goods.
- No scams, harassment, hate speech, threats, impersonation, or spam.
- No attempts to avoid moderation, exploit users, or misuse reports.
Transactions Are Not Guaranteed
Campus Marketplace does not guarantee listings, item quality, seller identity, payment completion, delivery, refunds, or transaction outcomes. Students should use judgment, inspect items, and avoid paying before they are comfortable with the exchange.
Moderation and Account Action
Reports may be reviewed by administrators. Listings, messages, or accounts may be hidden, removed, suspended, or banned when they appear unsafe, fraudulent, abusive, illegal, or inconsistent with these terms.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Campus Marketplace is provided as-is for student marketplace coordination and is not liable for user conduct, offline meetups, payments, losses, damages, or disputes between users.
